Our teachers are professionals who are dedicated, caring and trained in Early Childhood Education and Development. Additionally, the center director is experienced in evaluating the needs of your child, communicating with parents, and staff management. At all times, there will be a person trained in CPR and First Aid at the center. All staff participate in in-service and/or off-site training and education in order to remain alert to the ever changing needs of families and the current findings of Early Childhood research.

Director
Christine Shreve

Christine joined the teaching staff at Holy Cross Preschool in 2004 and became director in 2006.  She received her A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Canada College and her B.S. in Liberal Studies from Notre Dame de Namur University.  She is a Certified Positive Disipline instructor and has been trained in the Ages and Stages learning profiles.    Additionally, Christine is a member of a Director Support Network for Preschool Directors in San Mateo County and she participates in an Early Childhood Leadership Group sponsored by the San Mateo County Office of Education.  She believes that children deserve an engaging, developmentally oriented, playbased environment where they can safely explore and develop into their best selves.

Irene Fotinos

Irene has been teaching at Holy Cross Preschool since 2000.  She earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate at Canada College and is an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross.  Irene believes that each child has unique needs and abilities and that they learn best through playful interactions with their teachers, peers, and environment.

Miss Nicole

Nicole joined the teaching staff at Holy Cross Preschool in 2011.  She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studiies from Notre Dame de Namur University and is currently completing her Early Childhood Education Certificate at Canada College.  She enjoys creating fun sensory activities and making new discoveries with the children.

Miss Heidi

Heidi came to Holy Cross Preschool during the 2010-2011 school year as a substitute teacher and joined the permanent teaching staff in 2011. She holds a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Canada College and is currently working towards her A.S. degree. Heidi enjoys reading stories and creating art projects with the children.

Miss Khara

Khara joined the teaching staff at Holy Cross Preschool in 2012.  She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz where she studied Environmental Education.  She is currently completing her Early Childhood Education Certificate at Canada College.  She enjoys bringing nature into the classroom and having fun with math.

Miss Tammy

Tammy joined the teaching staff at Holy Cross Peschool in 2012 after having taught for 3 years on the Peninsula.  She holds a B.S. degree from San Jose State University and a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Canada College.  She enjoys bringing literature and music into the classroom as well as learning from the children.
